The Guardian reports that former officials of the IAEA are accusing its present head, Yukiya Amano of pro-Western bias over Iran. Israel’s defence minister Ehud Barack says Israel and the U.S. disagree on what would be a realistic timetable for stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. The UK group Campaign Against the Arms Trade  is protesting at plans by the National Gallery to host a reception for arms manufacturers during the Farnborough Air Show. Russian is planning a big re-armament program because of its failure to get assurances from the USA that its missile defence system in Europe is not directed against it.
